About Grilling Light

Hi my name is Steve and I’m a Chef residing and working in Portland, Oregon. I have spent the majority of my life in the industry and have extensive experience in the execution of all three major meals. My background varies from working in my uncle’s restaurant in Tahoe City, NV. doing dish and prep as a youth to owning and operating my own restaurants as well major hotel and convention center working banquets for up to 10,000 people. I’m currently employed as a corporate chef for a 26 year old catering exclusive company in the Portland, OR market.

My passion has always been BBQ and grilling. I have many years experience in the area of outdoor and indoor cooking. Over the last couple of years, I have gained a significant amount of weight that has wreaked havoc with my health. It is for that reason that I made a decision to modify my lifestyle with emphasis on changing what I eat and drink.

As I mentioned earlier, my passion is barbecuing and grilling. So if I wanted to continue eating BBQ, I would have to prepare a much lighter version of my recipes to fit my new lifestyle. I have decided to share my journey and gain a better knowledge of grilling light through my grilling community.
